5 of a poll party killed in naxal blast in Rajnandgaon

     Rajnandgaon, April 16, 2009: Maoists today triggered a powerful land mine blast in Rajnandgaon district killing five members of a polling party and injuring two.

     Among the killed were a Zonal Polling officer and four poll officials, police told the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

      In that incident two persons are seriously injured, they said.

     The incident took place between Manpur and Mohla when the polling party was traveling in a vehicle that came under a land mine, they said.

      Police forces have rushed to the spot.

     Including Rajnandgaon all the 11 Lok Sabha seats of Chhattisgarh are going to poll today on the first phase.
