     Ambikapur, July 18, 2010: The Government of India believed that only seven of the districts of Chhattisgarh are infested by Maoist.

     Currently 33 districts of the country are hit by left wing extremism and the Maoists are active in seven of the districts in Chhattisgarh, Director of the Central Planning Commission Dr A K Panda told a meeting here.

     Addressing the District Planning Board meeting here, Panda said the Maoists are active in eleven areas in the Sarguja region and the current plan are meant for three years.

     The meeting, chaired by the state Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Ram Vichar Netam, also passed an integrated action of Rs 1107.93 crore for the district for the next three years.

     The government would give priority to the areas, which were affected by Maoist violence, the Minister said,

     Eleven areas, namely Ramanujganj, Shankargarh, Kusmi, Udaypur, Lakhanpur, Odgi, Pratappur, Wadrafnagar and Mainpat are infested by the Maoists, District Collector (in Charge) Dhananjay Dewangan said.
