Raipur, March 05, 2011: Civil rights activist Dr Binayak Sen has moved to the Supreme Court against the February 10 order of Chhattisgarh High Court and seeking bail.
Sen was sentenced to life imprisonment by a session court of Raipur on December 24, on charge of sedition and prevention of unlawful activities for his links with Maoists and is currently lodged in Raipur Central Jail.
He had moved to the Chhattisgarh High Court for suspension of sentence and bail but his plea was rejected by a division bench following which he has moved to the Supreme Court, sources said.
The Supreme Court would reportedly hear his bail plea on March 11.
