Raipur, September 26, 2008: Jai Laxmi Thakur is appointed by the Chhattisgarh Government as the Vice Chancellor of Bastar University.
An unknown face in Bastar region also, Thakur was appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of Bastar University by the Raman Government.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh had congratulated her yesterday when Thakur called on him at his residence here.
Whether being a tribal was her only qualification or she had contributed immensely to the field of education was not provided so far by the state government to the media.
