Raipur, May 17, 2026: During the Sushasan Tihar 2026 organized in Dhamtari, the sentiment that “one’s own permanent home is not merely a structure of bricks and cement, but a strong foundation for security, dignity, and a new life” truly came alive. This moment unfolded when Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai realized the long-cherished dreams of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) by symbolically handing over the keys to their new homes.

At the Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival) event, keys to their homes were presented by Chief Minister Sai to beneficiaries Kumari Yadav and Lata Sahu from Bhatgaon. For these families, who had spent years living in kaccha (temporary) houses amidst difficult circumstances, this moment was not merely about receiving the benefits of a government scheme; rather, it became a symbol of the beginning of a new life filled with self-respect, security, and stability.

Beneficiary Kumari Yadav shared that her family used to face constant hardships during the rainy season. Due to the leaking roof and weak walls of their kaccha house, her children’s education and the family’s safety were always matters of deep concern.

She stated that, having received a permanent home under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, her family now feels secure, and a new hope has been kindled regarding her children’s future.

Similarly, Lata Sahu remarked that while every season previously brought with it a sense of anxiety, receiving a permanent home has now instilled in her family the confidence to live a life of dignity.

Expressing her gratitude to Chief Minister Sai, she affirmed that this scheme is nothing short of a boon for poor families.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai stated that the state government is working with the spirit of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person) and that ensuring the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible and needy family remains the government’s highest priority.

He emphasized that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is not merely a housing construction scheme, but an effective instrument for ensuring security, stability, and social dignity in the lives of poor families.

Chief Minister Sai further added that, through the Sushasan Tihar initiative, government schemes are being delivered directly to the common people, while the prompt resolution of public grievances is being ensured. This is the reason why, today, alongside development in rural areas, trust in the administration is also strengthening.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has brought about positive changes in the lives of thousands of families, providing them with a new direction towards a secure and dignified life.

Present on this occasion were public representatives, including Mahasamund MP Roopkumari Chaudhary, Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar, Dhamtari MLA Onkar Sahu, Dhamtari Mayor Ramu Rohra, and District Panchayat Chairman Arun Sarva, along with a large number of citizens.
