Raipur, July 3, 2026: Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is consistently and effectively working towards its resolve to provide agricultural inputs to farmers on time.

As of June 30, 2026, a total of 1,316,506 tons of fertilizers have been stockpiled for the Kharif season of 2026, official sources said today.

It is particularly noteworthy that, following the Chief Minister’s initiative, Chhattisgarh received a supply of 46,500 tons of DAP in July—an amount exceeding normal levels. This ensures that sufficient DAP will now be available to farmers. Notably, the total chemical fertilizer stockpiled so far is 1.08 lakh metric tons higher than the quantity stockpiled during the same period last year.

The status of chemical fertilizer storage and distribution in the state demonstrates that the government has ensured a robust system to provide adequate fertilizer, prioritizing farmers’ needs well before the farming season begins.

The Chief Minister stated that providing quality fertilizer to farmers on time is not merely a means to boost agricultural production but a significant step towards the prosperity of farming families and the strengthening of the state’s agricultural economy.

It is worth noting that the Central Government has set a target of 15.55 lakh tons of fertilizers for Chhattisgarh for the Kharif season of 2026. Against this target, 1,316,506 tons had already been stockpiled by June 30. This includes all major fertilizers such as Urea, DAP, NPK, MOP, and SSP.

This situation testifies to the government’s comprehensive advance preparations to ensure that farmers face no obstacles regarding fertilizer availability during the sowing period.

Significantly, 727,833 tons of fertilizers have already been distributed to farmers across the state. Distribution is proceeding continuously in alignment with the actual demand from farmers.  Additionally, a buffer stock of 5,88,673 tons of fertilizer is available in the state, ensuring uninterrupted supply to farmers in the coming days.

A comparison with the corresponding period last year reveals even more encouraging achievements. While the fertilizer stock in the state stood at 12,25,929 tons by June 30, 2025, it has risen to 13,16,506 tons this year—an increase of approximately 90,577 tons.

Similarly, 7,66,161 tons of fertilizer were distributed by June 30 last year; this year, approximately 7.28 lakh tons have already reached farmers. The current stock of over 5.88 lakh  tons is sufficient to meet future demand, reflecting the government’s visionary planning and robust supply management.

Prioritizing the interests of farmers above all else, Chief Minister Sai has issued clear directives to officials to ensure that no farmer in the state faces unnecessary hardship in obtaining fertilizer.

Consequently, the state government is continuously monitoring availability, storage, transportation, and distribution, ensuring that farmers receive the necessary fertilizers on time during the Kharif season.
