Rajnandgaon, July 18, 2009: The Home Minister and the DGP of Chhattisgarh took five days to reach the spot, where Rajnandgaon District SP Vinod Kumar Choubey and 25 other police personnel were killed by Maoists on July 12 in Madanwada area.
Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar, Principal Secretary Narendra Kumar Aswal and Director General of Police Vishwaranjan reached yesterday the spot near Madanwada under Manpur Tehsil of Rajnandgaon district, where naxalites ambushed and killed the Rajnandgaon SP and 25 policemen.
After visiting the spot the Home Minister said the forces fought bravely despite the fact that they were surrounded from all sides by the Maoists.
He also said that the fight against the Maoists would continue in the state to save the democracy and the country as the morale of the police was still high.
The Maoists would also be given befitting reply if they do not leave violence, Kanwar said.
