Balrampur becomes Balrampur-Ramanujganj Dist

     Ambikapur, January 17, 2012: In an appeasement move, Chhattisgarh government today decided to re-name Balrampur district as Balrampur-Ramanujganj district.

     Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh formally inaugurating the Balrampur-Ramanujganj district today said creation of the new district would speed up the process of development and the distance between the people and the administration would be bridged.

     As per the wish of the people, the name of the new district would be Balrampur-Ramanujganj, he said.

     The Chief Minister also participated in a rally before addressing a gathering at a ground on Balrampur-Chando road.
