Raipur, July 21, 2023: Main opposition BJP today moved a no-confidence motion against the Bhupesh Baghel government in Chhattisgarh Assembly and pulled up the regime on several issues.
Many BJP leaders, including Ajay Chandrakar, Brijmohan Agrawal, Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel, Shiv Ratan Sharma, and Saurav Singh had pointed out several lacunas of the Congress government in the state.
The BJP leaders questioned the sincerity of the Congress government in fighting corruption.
Some opposition leaders even accused that the bureaucracy was running the government.
The state is going to poll by November-December and keeping that in mind both the treasury and opposition benches fired salvo against each other in the house.
Since BJP has a very thin presence in the house the no-confidence motion was defeated as expected.
Replying to a debate on the motion Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said his government was rebuilding Chhattisgarh.
The opposition has the right to bring in such motion, and the treasury bench has the opportunity to give a befitting reply, Baghel said.
The BJP had levelled 109 allegations against the Congress government, but all those allegations were baseless, Baghel said.
