Bilaspur, May 26 2010: The Central Bureau of Investigation today arrested the Chairman cum Managing Director of the South East Coalfields Limited M P Dikshit and some other persons on corruption charges.
Dikshit and other people were taken into custody today by the CBI and had been taken to the capital city Raipur after the central agency raided the residence and office of the CMD and other places, officials said.
Raids were conducted yesterday evening after the agency received information that a huge amount of Rs one crore was allegedly paid to the CMD by some coal company as kickback, officials said.
They said search was also conducted in the residence of the CMD at Ranchi and also officials of some of the business establishments of Raipur involved in coal business were also interrogated.
However, Dikshit and CBI were reluctant to speak on the issue.
