Raipur, May 27, 2010: Central Bureau of Investigation today taken into transit remand of the Chairman cum Managing Director of the South East Coalfields Limited and one Vijendra Singh on corruption charges.
CBI today produced the CMD and others in a local court and obtained permission to take them in to transit remand to take them to Delhi to investigate the deal of one of the coal company, in which the coal official was claimed to have paid Rs one crore by one private organization.
CBI said it had to take the CMD of SECL to Delhi to investigate the matter, which was strongly opposed by the advocate of the arrested persons, saying the agency had failed to recover any big amount or other things from the residence or office of the CMD.
Finally the court had given transit remand of the arrested persons to the CBI.
