Against a total distribution target of 10 lakh metric tons of fertilizers, the stocking of 5.42 lakh metric tons (54 per cent) has been completed so far.

Currently, Urea (2.56 lakh tons), DAP (67 thousand tons), NPK (1.01 lakh tons), Potash (39 thousand tons), and SSP (78 thousand tons) are available in the cooperative societies.

Minister Kashyap, taking into account the potential global shortage of DAP, directed officials to maintain an adequate stock of alternative fertilizers and to encourage farmers to utilize them.

It was informed during the meeting that the demand for seeds for this season stands at 4.95 lakh quintals. So far, 81,640 quintals of certified seeds have been stocked.

Kashyap directed the Seed Corporation to ensure the supply of the remaining stock to the cooperative societies as soon as possible.

Cooperation Secretary Dr C R Prasanna was present at the review meeting. Senior officials from the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation—including Prasanna, MARKFED MD Jitendra Shukla, Seed Corporation MD Ajay Agarwal, and Apex Bank MD K N Kande—along with the CEOs of District Cooperative Central Banks, were present.
