     Raipur, September 20, 2016: A sophisticated DNA laboratory has been started functioning in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh was informed today.

     Led by Director General-Prosecution Mohammad Wazeer Ansari, senior officers of the State Forensic Lab, met the Chief Minister today at his residence and informed him about the achievements of their department.

     For DNA mapping, Chhattisgarh would no longer depend on Hyderabad, Ahmadabad or New Delhi as the DNA lab here has started functioning in the state, Ansari said.

     The forensic lab has also been upgraded with many sophisticated equipments after the government increased the budgetary allocation to the department, they said.

     Joint Director Sesha Saxena, Dr G S Sahu, Sikha Tiwari and Dr T L Chandra also appraised the Chief Minister about the works being carried out by the state Forensic lab and its scientists.
