Raipur, January 29, 2013: After development of tourism infrastructure, Chhattisgarh needed a fresh Tourism Policy, Department Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal said.
For promoting tourism industry in the state, there is ever need for a new Tourism policy for the state, Agrawal told yesterday a review meeting of the State Tourism Department.
Directing the officials to draft a new Tourism Policy, the Minister said looking into the rich historical, archeological, religious and natural tourism destinations available in Chhattisgarh, the state needed a new Tourism Policy.
The government has also developed tourism infrastructure in the state to provide basic amenities to the visitors, he said.
Chairman of the State Tourism Board Krishna Kumar Rai, Principal Secretary Tourism KDP Rao, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Santosh Mishra and others were present during the review meeting.
The Minister also directed officials to improve and strengthen online booking facilities of all motels and rest houses, located in various tourist places in the state, according to official sources.
