Raipur, October 12, 2022: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today demanded apology from his arch rival from BJP Dr Raman Singh, else get ready to face legal action.
Strongly reacting to the statement of the BJP national Vice President Dr Raman Singh, Chief Minister Baghel said, “Let him prove I have been the ATM and we are taking 25 rupees per ton from coal, else publicly beg apology”.
“Else I will take appropriate legal action and also file defamation suit against Singh”, Baghel told reporters.
Also reacting to the statement of former Chief Minister, calling some of the bureaucrats Congress loyal, Baghel said Dr Raman should stop issuing threats as the officials as they are performing their duties and are answerable to the government.
Action should be taken against people, who are involved in wrong doings, but no action should be taken for political mileage or to defame, the Chief Minister said.
The ED, Income Tax and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence should not be misutilised for political gain, he said.
Baghel also questioned, why there is no authentic information what all were recovered during the yesterday raid and from whom and why media is putting out stories quoting sources, without naming them?
The ED in the wee hours yesterday raided the premises of many prominent politicians, government officials and businessmen in Chhattisgarh.
