Mahasamund, April 14, 2010: A Sub Engineer of the Irrigation Department was suspended today for dereliction of duty during the Gram Suraj Abhiyan of the Chhattisgarh government.
S K Khandelwal was suspended by Mahasamund District Collector Niharika Barik for his absent from the Gram Suraj Abhiyan, officials said today.
The Irrigation Sub Engineer was made in-charge of one of the teams to visit the villages of the district, but at the time of arrival on April 11, he was found missing without any prior permission or information, they said.
During the suspension period Khandelwal would be attached to the office of the Irrigation SDO-Basna, they added.
