Raipur, August 25, 2009: Chhattisgarh Congress today said it would launch an agitation against the State Election Commissioner and the state BJP government, if the names of the alleged fake voters are not deleted from the electoral rolls.
The state BJP government had pressurised the officials to enroll huge number of fake names in the electoral rolls just ahead of the local body election of the state, claimed AICC General Secretary In-Charge of Chhattisgarh, V Narayan Samy in a press conference here.
The matter had already been brought to the notice of the State Election Commissioner Shivraj Singh and once again the party would request him to go for a revision of the electoral roll and delete the names of fake voters, he said.
If that was not done the party would launch an agitation against both the State Election Commission as well as the State BJP government, he said.
Samy, who is also a Central Minister, accused that the state government was diverting or misutilising the central funds.
The party cadre had been asked to monitor the works and he was in touch with various central ministers to review the works at the central level also to check irregularities in the centrally funded schemes, he said.
