Raipur, September 26, 2016: Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Vivek Kumar Dhand today reviewed the progress in the works of direct benefit transfer (DBT) schemesand directed all the departments to set up special DBT cell.

Looking in to its importance, the Chief Secretary has directed all the secretaries to set up DBT cell by September 30 in today’s meeting, official sources said.

With the Cell, all the beneficiaries would get a credible but simple digital platform, Dhand said.

The Centre has decided to bring in all its welfare schemes under the direct benefit transfer platform, where as schemes under the public distribution system, health and rural development of the state government would also be under its ambit, he said.

After the seeding of the Aadhar card number, the subsidies would be directly and smoothly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries, the Chief Secretary said.

The DBT would also reduce irregularities in the welfare schemes as that would bring in more transparency in the implementation of the government welfare schemes, he added.
