E-Payment to PWD Contractors from Oct: Govt

     Raipur, September 27, 2012: Chhattisgarh Government has decided to do away with cheque payment system for the contractors of Public Works Department from next month.

    There would not be any cheque payment to the contractors of the PWD Department from next month, state Government sources said.

     The decision was taken as the state government has decided to introduce e-payment system in the Department for the contractors, the sources said.

     Under the new system, all type of payments would be made through on-line national electronic fund transfer system, they added.

     The new system would help maintain transparency and speedy disposal of cases, the sources said.

     The Public Works Department has urged all its contractors to submit the relevant documents with their local offices to avoid any inconvenience.
