Raipur, September 24, 2016: Government of India has made it mandatory for electronic fund transfer of wages of NREGS programme to the bank account of the labourers.
From October 17, the new National Electronic Fund Management System would be put in place to transfer wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, official sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Eleven states, including Chhattisgarh, have been brought under the ambit of the new system.
Under the new system, the states would only be paid the amount for materials and administrative expenses and the wages would directly be transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
The Central Rural Development Ministry has also made it mandatory for uploading of photographs of construction works through a mobile application to check irregularities in developmental works.
