Bhilai, May 3, 2009: Prominent theatre personality of Chhattisgarh Prem Simon died today.
Simon died at Bhilai.
He was one of the prominent theatre artist of the state and scripted several stage shows and films.
Simon had written dramas like Kari, Lorik Chanda, Hareli, Murgi Wala and cinemas like Pardeshi Ke Maya and Kari.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of Simon.
In a condolence message at Raipur, the Chief Minister said with his death it was an end of a golden chapter of local theatre in Chhattisgarh.
Culture Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal has also expressed his deep sorrow and said Simon had given a new direction to the fields of script and direction of theatre.
