     Ambikapur/Raipur, April 04, 2013: A suspected mentally deranged man brutally hacked to death nine female, including five small girl children in north of Chhattisgarh, a police official said.

     “The accused, who killed nine female, is a mentally ill person,” Balrampur District Superintendent of Police Govardhan Singh Darroh told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.    

     After police overpowered him and in custody when asked why he has killed nine persons, he failed to reply to any of the questions, said Darroh, who himself interrogated the accused.

     “What happened? Who killed? I have no idea,” accused Pandu Nagesia told the District Police Chief.

     Darroh also told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com, he had asked the accused several questions, but failed to get any reply and also “during inquiry it is revealed that the accused and the victims had no animosity at any point”.

     “Because of his history of mental illness his wife had deserted Nagesia”, the District Police Chief said.

     Earlier in the afternoon the 35-year-old Pandu Nagesia had axed to death a total of nine female in Behratoli village of Samri police station in Balrampur district, about 120 kilometres from the district headquarters Balrampur in Sarguja region, Darroh said.

     “The accused Nagesia first attacked a 25-year old woman and her two year old girl child and axed them to death and subsequently killed his neighbours one after another without any fight with them,” the District Police chief said.

     The girls are between the age group of two and nine and one woman was of 25 years old whereas three other women are above 60 years old, he said.

     The victims are from his locality and the nine females are belonged to seven families, Darroh said.
