Raipur, April 12, 2011: Union Minister of state for Home Gurudas Kamat today created a flutter by saying that the arson in Tadmetla, Timmapuram and Morepalli villages were the work of Maoists.
The Maoists are behind the arson to defame the police forces, Kamat told reporters after returning from Dantewada.
Earlier media reports and opposition parties have alleged that a joint police party of CRPF and Koya Commandos had gone on a three day operation of Chintalnar area on March 13, last and during that period they had killed one innocent person, sexually abused some women and burnt about 300 houses in Tadmetla, Timmapuram and Morepalli villages for no reasons.
The Union Minister said he had been to Dantewada to understand the difficulties of the forces there, and he would discuss with the state Chief Minister and the Union Home Minister in that regard.
He said he wanted a solution to the Maoists problem and also wanted the people living in the Maoist affected areas to stay away from the propaganda of the left wing extremists.
Addressing the police forces at Dantewada, the Minister said police should also take the help of the locals in their fight against Maoists.
