     Raipur, April 27, 2013: A police officer and a Head Constable were killed today in a gun battle with the Maoists in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, police said.

      Todaki Police Station House Officer Sub Inspector Santosh Ekka and Head Constable Atiram Usendi were killed in a gun battle with Maoists, police said.

     In that incident a Sub Inspector Ravindra Mandavi and an SPO Samaru were seriously injured.

     The incident took place in the jungle of Raoghat police station area when a joint police party of District Force and Border Security Force were on a search operation in the deep woods, the sources said.
