Raipur, November 13, 2008: Mukesh Gupta is the new Inspector General of Police of Sarguja range replacing B S Maravi, who was injured in naxal firing in Balrampur district on November 10, last.
The Election Commission today evening cleared the posting of Gupta as the new IGP of Sarguja, Commission officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.
Currently Gupta was posted in the Police Headquarters.
When Maravi was in Balrampur police district Maoists said to have ambushed him, in which he sustained injuries on head and back, police sources said.
After treatment at Ambikapur, he was shifted to Raipur for further treatment.
