Naxal Elimination and Rapid Development of Bastar top priority: Chief Minister Sai

     Jagdalpur, December 13, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today categorically stated that the elimination of Naxalism and development of Bastar region are among the state government’s top most priorities.

     Addressing the closing ceremony of the Bastar Olympics 2025 held in Jagdalpur today in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister said that along with the elimination of Naxalism, the development of basic amenities in Bastar is being carried out rapidly, and Bastar is now moving forward with strong momentum towards development.

     Chhattisgarh is a prosperous state, but the problem of Maoism has been a major obstacle to the state’s development from the very beginning, Sai said.

     Due to the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strong resolve of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a clear timeline has now been set for the end of Maoism, he said.

     Also, the scope of the Niyad Nella Nar scheme has been extended from 5 kilometers to 10 kilometers, through which electricity, drinking water, health, education, and other basic facilities are rapidly reaching 403 villages, Sai added.

     Schools that were closed due to Maoism are now reopening. A vast network of roads is being developed to connect the interior areas with transportation facilities. Public welfare schemes are being fully implemented in villages freed from Maoism. As a result of all these positive efforts, the public’s trust in development is continuously increasing, the Chief Minister.

     He encouraged all the participants of the Bastar Olympics and congratulated them, wishing them even better performance in the coming year.

     On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that Bastar is creating a new history in the country.

     He expressed confidence that Naxalism will be completely eradicated by March 31, 2026, and Bastar will once again become prosperous.

     Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma also addressed the event and congratulated the players on the successful organization of the Bastar Olympics.

     MLA of Jagdalpur and State BJP President Kiran Dev extended a warm welcome to all the guests and players in his welcome address. At the end of the ceremony, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap expressed his gratitude.
