Jagdalpur, February 2, 2010: Continuing with their violent activities, the Maoists today triggered a powerful IED blast targetting security forces, in which one of the Special Police Officers was seriously injured.
When a police party was on its security operation in the wake of the ongoing Panchayat Poll, the Maoists triggered a powerful IED, Inspector General of Bastar Range T J Lang Kumer said.
The incident took place near Midiampalli Narsapuram of Bijapur district.
In that explosion one of the SPO Venkateswar Komre was seriously injured and was subsequently airlifted to Jagdalpur for better treatment.
After the launch of the Operation Green Hunt the Maoists have also stepped up their violent activities in Chhattisgarh.
