Raipur, November 09, 2012: Chhattisgarh government has issued notification to provide education loan at the rate of four per cent.
The state government has issued the notification for the Chief Minister Higher Education Loan to make available loan at four per cent rate of interest, an official communication said here today.
This loan would only be provided for technical or professional studies.
Children belonging to families with less than Rs 2 lakh annual income would be eligible for this loan, it said.
A student could get a maximum of Rs 4 lakh as loan under this scheme, it clarified.
The Technical Education Department of Chhattisgarh government had on October 29 signed a memorandum of understanding with Canara Bank to make it the nodal bank for the scheme and the next day the state had issued the notification.
