     Raipur, December 20, 2015: The United Bangladesh Airlines, which made an emergency landing here on August 7, last could be repaired soon.

      The UBD585 is waiting for repair at the old airport here, Swami Vivekananda Airport officials said adding the United Bangladesh Airlines has written a letter to the Raipur airport authority taking interest in repair of the flying machine.

      An 18-member team from would visit Raipur soon to change the engineer of the flight, the foreign airlines has written to Raipur Airport authority.

      Meanwhile, Raipur Airport authority said the charges for parking and security of the Bangladesh Airlines has crossed Rs 5 lakh.

     A huge machine Engine Intake was detached from the flight when it was over Gangpur village of Bemetara district in Chhattisgarh, about 80 kilometre from Raipur on August 7 last.

      “Surely the 164 passengers and eight crew members of the United Bangladesh Airlines had a providential escape on August 7 as initially the engine intake fell and then the flight was forced landed at a comparatively smaller runaway risking the life of the people on board,” Airport sources said.

      Due to technical snag the UBD 585 flight going from Dhaka to Mascot made the emergency landing at Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur on August 7 evening.

     Initially the flight due to snag contacted the Nagpur Air Traffic Control and then Raipur ATC and finally landed at Raipur, Airport officials said.

     However, another flight came on August 8 and flew with the passengers, leaving behind the defective flying machine.
