Raipur, June 07, 2010: Former BJP State President Nand Kumar Sai and senior Congress leader Mohsina Kidwai are all set to be elected to the Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh without going for any poll for the two vacant seats.

Although Sai had filed his nomination on June 2 last, he said, on request of his party MLAs he had to file his second set of nominations today.

On the other hand Congress took time to rename Kidwai as its candidate from Chhattisgarh, because of which she filed her nomination on the last date today.

In the presence of Union Minister V Narayan Samy and Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey, Kidwai handed over her sets of nominations to Returning Officer and Secretary Chhattisgarh Assembly Devendra Verma in the presence of a host of party leaders.

The nominations would be scrutinised tomorrow and if found correct, both would be declared elected on June 10, the last date of withdrawal of nomination for Rajya Sabha election, assembly officials said.
