      Bijapur, February 04, 2013: Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh today reviewed the developmental works of Bijapur District and said the Centre was ready to pay money if road are being constructed by the sarpanches or gram panchayats.

     During interaction with the people’s representatives, many pointed out lack of road communication in Bijapur district.

     Agree to this point, the Union Minister said the Centre would allot money to the Gram Panchayats if the sarpanches would take responsibility of the road construction work.

     He also directed the officials to videograph the wage distribution as cash was being paid against the works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

     The Minister also favoured payment of wages in front of the people’s representatives.
