Kawardha, September 22, 2024: Senior Ministers of Vishnu Dev Sai cabinet and a ruling BJP MLA today reached Loharidih village of Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh and discussed with the violence hit people.
After death of Shiv Prasad Sahu on September 15 there was arsoning in the village of Loharidih, in which Raghunath Sahu was killed.
After the violent incident in the village police allegedly assaulted large number of villagers of Loharidih and arrested many and one more person Prashant Sahu was allegedly killed during that period in police custody in Kawardha, creating a political upheaval.
Deputy Chief Minister-PWD Arun Sao and Deputy Chief Minister-Home Vijay Sharma, Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma and MLA Bhavana Vohra today reached Loharidih and discussed with the villagers.
Since all the three deceased are from Sahu community, the delegation was also comprising of office bearers from the Sahu Samaj.
On instruction from the Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, they are here in the village, the delegate said and also met the family members of deceased Shiv Prasad Sahu, Raghunath Sahu and Prashant Sahu.
They also handed over a cheque of Rs 10 Lakh to the family members of deceased Prashant Sahu.
The visiting Ministers had appealed to the villagers to maintain peace and assured them of justice.
The Chief Minister On September 20 last removed the Kawardha SP Abhishek Pallav and Collector Janmejay Mahobe from the home district of Home Minister Vijay Sharma in Kawardha.
Gopal Verma was appointed as the new Collector of Kawardha whereas Rajesh Kumar Agrawal is made the new SP, replacing controversial IPS Abhishek Pallav.
Earlier Additional SP Vikash Kumar, who is said to be under training, has also been placed under suspension by the state government after the incident.
After allegation of police assault on villagers, the entire 23 staff of the Rengakhar Police Station, including the Inspector and the ASI have been removed from the police station.
The Chief Minister has also ordered a magistrate probe into the incident.
