     Raipur, November 30, 2012: Chhattisgarh State Finance Commission, led by former BJP Minister Ajay Chandrakar, today submitted its interim report to Governor Shekhar Dutt at Raj Bhawan here.

     Chandrakar, Commission member Ashok Kumar Parakh, its advisor and former Chief Secretary Suyogya Kumar Mishra and Commission Secretary Awadh Bihari submitted the report to the Governor.

     The Commission has to submit its final report by March 31, 2013.

     After examining the financial situation of the state the Commission has to recommend how much money should be allocated to the local bodies here, official sources said.

     The Commission has to suggest reforms in the tax structure in local bodies and the ways to improve their financial conditions among others.

     The Commission was constituted on July 23, last year.
