New Delhi, June 22, 2024: Chhattisgarh cadre IAS and the Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA), who had the job to conduct the NEET UG, Subodh Kumar Singh has been removed today night from his post after large scale protest over the large scale irregularities in conducting the entrance examination for under graduate medical admission.
“Placing the services of Subodh Kumar Singh IAS (CG-1997)…On compulsory waiting the Department of Personnel and Training,” an order of the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet said today.

In place of Subodh Kumar Singh, the government of India has appointed Pradeep Singh Kharola as the new Director General of NTA, the order said.
Kharola has been given the NTA DG post as additional charge till a regular appointment is made.
Currently Kharola is the Chairman cum Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation.
NTA is in the eye of storm after large scale irregularities were reported in media on the examination for the Under Graduate NEET entrance test.
