Raipur, May 30, 2010: It seems things are not in the right direction in the state Women and Child Welfare Department as during a review it came to fore that the Departmental officials were not taking the orders of the Chhattisgarh Government seriously.
Surprise to many, even the Department officials have started ignoring the orders of the Government and not attending even the review meeting of the Women and Child Welfare Minister Lata Usendi and her Secretary K D P Rao.
During the review of the departmental works, Women and Child Welfare Minister ordered for suspension of two officers and departmental actions against four others.
The Minister had called for a review meeting of the Departmental works in which the Women and Child Welfare Officer of Bijapur and Programme officer of Dhamtari were absent without any intimation, officials said today.
The Minister was surprised to see that the District Programme Officer Korba and Programme Officer Kathghora of the same Korba District were not taking the works of the Government seriously, because of that they were suspended by the Minister, they said.
It was not only the two officials, who were ignoring the Government orders, but also there were others, because of which the displeased Minister asked her Departmental Secretary K D P Rao to take actions against two others.
The Minister also expressed strong displeasure over the functioning of the Programme Officers of Poudi Uparoda and Pasan of the same Korba District and it was decided to stop two annual increments of both the officials, and also that of the Bijapur and Dhamtari officers, the sources said.
Despite repeated direction of the Chief minister Dr Raman Singh, the works to improve the nutrition condition of the children were not taken seriously in many districts, the officials said.
The Minister even named the districts like Raipur, Raigarh, Janjgir Champa, Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Korba, Korea and expressed her displeasure over the pace of work against malnutrition and warned if things are not improved in three months, strong action would be initiated against the officials of the said districts, the officials added.
