     Raipur, August 21, 2010: The Central Vigilance Committee, under the Chairmanship of Justice D P Wadhwa, would be on a five-day tour of Chhattisgarh from August 24 to make public hearing on the Public Distribution System in the state.

     The committee would be on a tour of Chhattisgarh from August 24 and during that period would also hold public hearing in at least three districts, officials said today.

     The Committee would hold public hearing at Raipur on August 25, at Rajnandgaon on August 26 and at Kanker on August 27, the officials said.

     During their visit to the districts, the Committee would not only visit some of the fair price shops but also interact with the locals and people’s representatives there, they said.

      The Central Vigilance Committee, headed by Wadhwa, a former Judge of the Supreme Court, is appointed to look into the maladies affecting the proper functioning of the Public Distribution System and also to suggest remedial measures.
