Jagdalpur, January 05, 2025: At least four Maoists and one security personnel were killed today in a fierce encounter in the Abujhmad jungle of Chhattisgarh, a top police officer said.
“So far four bodies of Maoists, who were in their battle uniform, have been recovered after an encounter with police forces,” Inspector General of Police of Bastar range P Sundarraj told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
In that incident one head constable from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) Sannanu Karam was killed, he said.
Giving details he said, on information of the gathering of Maoists, forces from four districts, namely Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bastar and Kondagaon of the Southern region of Chhattisgarh in Bastar, were dispatched along with special task force to the Abujhmad forest area.
From Saturday, January 4 evening, there were intermittent firing between security forces and Moist of different intensity.
During the search operation security forces have recovered uniformed body of, four Maoists, he said.
The forces have recovered many sophisticated weapons like AK 47 and Self Loaded Rifle.
The security forces are still in jungle and the search operation is continuing, the top police officer said.
