     Raipur, December 21, 2022: Chhattisgarh government has so far procured 63.86 lakh tons of paddy from the farmers in the minimum support price, officials said today.

     As of today the state government has procured 63.86 lakh tons paddy from the farmers through its 2600 procurement centres, official said.

     A total of 15.93 lakh farmers throughout the state had sold their 63.86 lakh tons Khariff paddy to the state.

    Against their Khariff produces, a total of Rs 13,283 crore has been paid to the farmers, the officials said.

     To have more storage spaces and to minimise damage, so far 38.55 lakh tons paddy had already been despatched for custom millings against the despatch order for 47.95 tons paddy, they added.

     The Congress government in the state has targetted 1 crore 10 lakh tons paddy this Khariff season and all the district collectors have been directed by the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to take the paddy procurement issue on top priority.

     Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain had also on a regular basis taking video conferences to monitor not only the purchases and disbursement of money against that, but also lifting for custom millings.
