Raipur, June 05, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today instructed the Health Department officials to work on anemia, leprosy and child and maternal health care programme on priority basis.

The instruction was issued when the Chief Minister was reviewing various schemes of the Health Department at the state Secretariat today.
Sai also asked all the senior officials of the Health Department that the access to medicines should be ensured till the last person.
Giving stress on expanding health services in the state, he said that there are better possibilities of treatment through AYUSH in the state, but that needs to be expanded further.

In the review meeting, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal stated that the state Chhattisgarh is ranked 5th in the country in the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) programme.
The Minister informed the Chief Minister about the status of various programmes of the health sector in the state.
Health Secretary Amit Kataria told the meeting that the state is performing well in eliminating diseases like TB and malaria.
The treatment success rate towards TB elimination is 90 per cent, while during this period 100 percent TB patients have been notified. Along with this, 94 per cent of the vaccination target has been achieved in the state by March 2025, Kataria said.
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat and Mukesh Bansal, Commissioner Medical Education and Commissioner AYUSH Department Shikha Rajput Tiwari, Managing Director NHM and Commissioner cum Director Dr Priyanka Shukla, Controller of Food and Drugs Department Deepak Agarwal and senior officers of Health Department were present in the review meeting of Health Department.
