New Delhi, November 25, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi and held detailed discussions regarding the expansion of rail facilities in Chhattisgarh, including progress of new projects, and the early completion of ongoing projects.
The Chief Minister urged that all approved projects in the state be progressed in a timely manner to ensure better, faster, and safer transportation facilities are available to citizens, industries, and businesses, official sources said.

Railway Minister Vaishnaw welcomed the points raised by Sai and stated that the Railway Ministry is actively working to further strengthen connectivity in Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, rail development in Chhattisgarh is progressing at an unprecedented pace, and through the coordinated efforts of the “Double Engine” government, the state’s rail network has entered a new golden era.
He stated that the launch of the Raipur-Jabalpur Express has given new impetus to tourism, trade, and education.

He also mentioned that the state’s rail network is set to double between 2014 and 2030, compared to only 1,100 kilometers between 1853 and 2014.
The 22-fold increase in the state’s rail budget over the last ten years and the historic allocation of ₹6,925 crore for 2025–26 are strong evidence of this transformation under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the Chief Minister said.
Several major rail projects worth over ₹47,447 crore are progressing rapidly in the state. Important projects such as the Kharsia–Nava Raipur–Parmalkasa, Gevra–Pendra, Raoghat–Jagdalpur, Kharsia–Dharamjaigarh, and Bilaspur–Jharsuguda fourth line will elevate Chhattisgarh’s rail connectivity to new heights.
The Chief Minister informed that under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, modern redevelopment of 32 railway stations in the state, including Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg, is also underway at a rapid pace, providing world-class facilities to passengers.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Railway Minister Vaishnaw on behalf of the 3 crore people of Chhattisgarh, Sai expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of the Central and State Governments, Chhattisgarh will be among the states having the most important rail corridors in the country in the coming years and this expansion of connectivity will provide new energy to the industrial, economic, social and tourism potential of the state.
Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary Rahul Bhagat and Secretary of Commerce and Industry Department Rajat Kumar were present on this occasion.
