Raipur, August 10, 2009: Chhattisgarh Government today directed all the district collectors of the state to prepare report of drought in their districts within one week and also open employment generated works where ever needed.
The Cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, today discussed the drought situation in the state.
The cabinet discussed the scanty and scattered rainfall situation of the state and ways to combat the situation, including providing water to the agriculture field and provision for drinking waters, officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com
The Chief Minister had also asked all the District Collectors to make eye estimate of crop loss or the status of crop situation and report back to the government within one week, officials said.
The Collectors have also been asked to open employment generated works in the places where ever needed to combat the situation, they said.
