Raipur, March 31, 2011: Chhattisgarh Government today declared a judicial probe into the alleged arson and violence by police in Tadmetla, Timmapuram and Morepalli villages of Dantewada district.

Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar told the state assembly that the State government wanted an independent probe into the entire incident because of which it was going for a judicial inquiry into the incident.

However, Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey said the government was silent on the issues to be probed under judicial inquiry.

Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Ajit Jogi said judicial probe takes years to submit report, and by that time the probe report lost its relevance, and demanded a time limit for the Inquiry to be completed.

Home Minister had also informed the house that the Chintalnar area was a sensitive and hyper naxal infested area and since 2007 to February 2011, a total of 11 encounters took place in that area in which 91 security forces were killed, including 76 policemen in 2010 in Tadmetla.

He also said relief materials have been rushed to the affected villages.

Media reports and opposition parties have alleged that a joint police party of CRPF and Koya Commandos had gone on a three day operation of Chintalnar area on March 13, last and during that period they had killed one innocent person, sexually abused some women and burnt about 300 houses in Tadmetla, Timmapuram and Morepalli villages for no reasons.
