Raipur, January 14, 2010: Opposition Congress today raised the increasing numbers of crimes and especially murders in Chhattisgarh and accusing the state government of not taking sufficient action on the issue, staged a walk out from the state assembly.

Congress members, led by Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey, said the law and order situation has collapsed in the state.

Due to lack of proper administration the graph of crime has increased day by day, the Congress members said and urged the Chair to allow them to move an adjournment motion on the issue.

However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal opposed the demand of the Congress and said the issue had already been discussed through a call attention motion, hence the same issue cannot be taken up twice on the same session.

Finally the Speaker refused to allow the opposition to raise the issue through an adjournment motion, following which the Congress members staged a walkout from the state assembly raising slogans demanding the resignation of the Home Minister.
