Raipur, September 14, 2012: After successful Gram Suraj Abhiyan the Raman Government today decided to launch a similar campaign in the urban areas of the state from November 19, next.
A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today decided to start Nagar Suraj Abhiyan from November 19 and would continue up to November 26, official sources said.
The Government would take stock of the situation, including problems and resentment of the people of the urban area during that time, the sources said.
The campaign would hit all the 168 urban areas of the state, they said.
About 59.36 lakh people live in ten Corporations, 32 Municipalities and 126 Nagar Panchayats of the state as per the 2011 Census.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress in the Urban Development Department in today’s meeting, they said.
