Rajnandgaon, November 20, 2012: Chhattisgarh administration today warned all school authorities to provide safe drinking water and toilet facilities to the students or face de-recognition.
With in the next six months, at any cost there should be facilities of safe drinking water, toilet and electricity in all the schools from primary to higher secondary, Rajnandgaon District Collector Ashok Agrawal told a review meeting here today.
Action should be taken to de-recognise all such schools, which do not have such facilities, he said.
Agrawal also asked the district officials to inspect and prepare a list of both the government and private schools to ensure all such facilities for the students, official sources said.
Out of 2768 government schools, 184 does not have any facility of safe drinking water and 210 lacked toilet facilities, official informed the review meeting.
The Collector has also asked the local officials to inspect the private schools with in a week and make a list of presence of such facilities in their premises.
