Raipur, January 14, 2013: Chhattisgarh Government was visibly annoyed with the Kanker district administration over the alleged rape incident at a tribal hostel of the district and was contemplating issuing show cause notices to them.

“Kanker is a naxal-hit district and how the police and civil administration had not noticed any suspicious movement in a tribal girl hostel,” asked a senior government official.

“This is also a serious security lapse,” the official told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

Several top government officials talking to ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com have expressed serious concern over the alleged rape incident.

How come the hostel was allowed to run in such a bad conditioned building in Narharpur block, questioned another official.

The officials at the Capitol Complex here are annoyed that the alleged exploitation of the minor girl students were taking place for quite some time but surprisingly the local administration was not aware of any such act.

Looking into all those factors, the government was contemplating to seek reply from the Kanker District Collector and the District Superintendent of Police, how such an incident never came to their notice in the early stage, officials said.

Meanwhile, the Government today clarified that the Chief Minister deliberately stayed away from visiting the area to conceal the identity of the victims.

“The Supreme Court wants that the identity of the victims should never be disclosed and keeping that in mind the Chief Minister is not visiting the affected people,” sources close to the Chief Minister told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

However, Dr Raman Singh had sent his Women and Child Welfare Minister Lata Usendi and Tribal Welfare Minister Kedar Kashyap to Kanker, the sources said.
