Raipur, July 25, 2014: Balram Jee Das Tandon today took oath as Governor of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Yatindra Singh administered him oath of office and secretary to Tandon.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, his cabinet colleagues, civil and police officials were present during the oath ceremony at Raj Bhawan
The Centre has for the first time appointed a full time politician as the Governor of Chhattisgarh after its creation.
Tandon is one of the founder members of Jan Sangh and had been the former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab.
So far two IPS, one IAS and one Army officer had been appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
