Jagdalpur, August 15, 2009: Displaying gross negligence, the National Flag was today hoisted with upside down in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
In the presence of IAS and IPS officers, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Lata Usendi today unfurled the Tri-Colour but the upside was down during the unfurling.
It was noticed after unfurling in the District level government function and was immediately corrected, officials said.
However, the Dantewada district administration made a constable responsible for the incident, as if he was the over all in-charge of the ceremonial function, and had been placed under suspension for the criminal negligence.
Sources close to the Chief Minister, however, blamed lack of seriousness as the reason for the incident to take place.
