Bilaspur, July 3, 2009: New Rail Minister Mamata Benerjee today gave three new trains to Chhattisgarh and also announced that three stations of the state would get a face lift, besides many other benefits to the state.
Tabling her Railway Budget for 2009-2010, Benerjee said there would be a Super Fast Weekly Train between Bilaspur-Thirunvelli via Thiruvananthapuram, besides Weekly Express train between Durg and Jaipur and thrice a week Express train from Ambikapur to Jabalpur.
She also announced that the Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg Stations would get face lift with all modern facilities along with 47 other Railway Stations of the country.
The Minister also told Parliament that the 2823/2824 Durg-Hazrat Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express has also been made thrice a week from twice.
Similarly 2905/2906 Porbandar-Hawrah via Hapa has been made thrice a week from twice a week.
The 8425/8426 Raipur-Bhubaneswar daily train has now been extended up to the temple city of Puri in Orissa.
