Raipur, October 03, 2015: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today dismissed allegation that the Rajnandgaon BJP MP and his son Abhishek Singh has any foreign bank account.
“I don’t think Abhishek has any foreign bank account,” Singh told reporters.
He was reacting to a question after famous Supreme Court advocate Prashant Bhushan had twitted on October 02, last “As per ICIJ website, Abhishek Singh with add (address) of Raman Medical Store at CM Raman Singh’s residence has foreign accts (account)!”.
Despite denial by the Chief Minister of any such account, PCC President Bhupesh Baghel attempted to raise the issue to gain political mileage.
“Either the Chief Minister should write to the Prime Minister for a probe of the matter or file defamation case against Prashant Bhushan,” demanded Baghel in a press conference.
Reacting to this, BJP Spokesman Sachchidanand Upasane said after the statement of the Chief Minister there was no need for any further clarification.
The Chief Minister has said the Rajnandgaon MP does not have any foreign account and if Congress has any proof to dismiss that they should produce that. Else the Congress should stop trying to unnecessarily rake up the issue, said Upasane.
